DW__What's your name ? How old are you and where do you live ?

My name is Leszek, though I've shortened it to Le, to make it simplier and more linguistically friendly. I'm a 24-year-old guy from Poland.

DW__When did you started blogging ?

I launched my own visual diary blog in October 2011. However, I've been tumbling since April 2009.

DW__How did you come up with the idea ?

Everything started with passion for photography. Flicking through portraiture and editorial photography had led me towards fashion culture. At some point I decided to combine the areas of photography and fashion in a blogging space. Working on photographic skills and personal style (which is an excellent subject to photograph) can be very rewarding.

DW__What does fashion mean to you ?

It's a medium of expression, a sort of art for sure. A reflection of your persona, the way you live and the things that inspire you.

DW__According to you, what is the most significant period for men's fashion ?

The 50's and 60's. Classic style is quite resistant to changes and you may refer to it in your attire whatever the fashion trends are. I draw a great inspiration from that period and often find it really refreshing.

DW__What do you think about the influence of fashion bloggers in the fashion world ?

I think they make the distance between haute couture and style enthusiasts shorter. Bloggers can bring fashion culture closer to their readers and create a brilliant network of fashion consciousness. Therefore, fashion world expands, becomes more available.

DW__Do you believe that one day they'll replace the fashion magazine or do you think it's just ephemeral ?

I really can't predict, although I hope they will neither replace magazines nor be ephemeral. Many fashion bloggers already do a good editorial work, magazines absorb more and more digital space. I think these two platforms work great along with each other.

DW__In your opinion, what makes fashion an amazing world ?

The art of creating beauty.

DW__Is your style personal or is it inspired by what is already out there ?

I try to make it as personal as possible. It should embrace well-matched attire, body- and mind-wise. Therefore it must be personal.

However, every day the way I visualize my style is influenced by whatever catches my perceptive attention. But isn't it what makes being inspired wonderful?

DW__Where do you get your ideas from ?

I think most of them come from the classics or fashion culture. By classics, I mean films, books, editorial photography icons. As for fashion culture, I find catwalks, magazines, street style blogs truly inspiring.

DW__What is your greatest inspiration ?

I draw the biggest inspiration from photography. It has led me to fashion culture and art admiration. I love exploring aesthetics and all the beauty of portraiture that photography brings along as a visual art.

DW__How important is it for you to look your best and why ?

To me, it's all about feeling well with myself. I feel well when I'm inspired (by photography, books, films, artists) and can saturate my look with that state. I choose an outfit that keeps me awake to everything that puts my thoughts on a right track. So it's pretty important.

DW__Who would qualify to be an icon ?

Someone who is talented, smart, art-sensitive and can formulate all of these values in his/her style.

DW__Your ideal female or male would have what style? what would he/she be wearing ?

In case of both male and female, classic, preppy, buttoned-up and vintage accents work excellent.

DW__A fashion advice ?

Stay unique, even when inspired by pop fashion trends.

DW__When did you started blogging?

I started blogging maybe around august 2011, and I've had my lookbook account up since september 2010.

DW__How did you come up with the idea?

I started lookbooking, actually not because I wanted to do fashion, I actually started to practice modeling. I never though my style/fashion sense was anything view-worthy, but I got really good feedback from the site so I continued to post more.

DW__What does fashion mean to you?

To me, fashion is an indirect language. It's a quick and direct way to convey yourself/your character in the split second that you meet someone.

DW__According to you, what is the most significant period for men's fashion?

I've got to say the 50s and the 70s. Who doesn't love a clean cut man who also knows how to dress edgy?

DW__What do you think about the influence of fashion bloggers in the fashion world?

I've never realized how much of an influence fashion bloggers had on the fashion world outside. Sure high fashion editorials and ads run the fashion upper world, but most of the world is influenced by the casuals, the everyday wear, and that's where the fashion bloggers come in.

DW__Do you believe that one day they'll replace the fashion magazine or do you think it's just ephemeral ?

I don't believe that fashion bloggers will ever replace fashion magazines, nor do I think that fashion bloggers are ephemeral. We're definitely here to stay, I just feel like the two have different goals/reaches and are a necessity to the fashion world, and through that the two complete each other.

DW__In your opinion, what makes fashion an amazing world?

Crocs, no, just kidding. I love the ability to invent and create in the fashion world. There are so many rules for all that is fashion, but at the same time, all those rules are just waiting to be broken to create a new fashion "it".

DW__Is your style personal or is it inspired by what is already out there?

It's almost impossible to not be influenced by what is already done. Unless if you're me, in which case, you're awesome, haha but really though, I don't believe that it's possible to be fully new when it comes to fashion, just because fashion has been going on for centuries. That's what I love about it though, the new is just the old revamped. That's sort of the way I see my style, a modern version of the 70s.

DW__Where do you get your ideas from?

love the 70s casual-wear. Most of my style would be derived from that, but at the same time, my style is eclectic and random. I guess I gather inspiration from my peers and the world around me.

DW__What is your greatest inspiration?

My greatest inspiration when it comes to fashion would probably be...I don't know really. It's hard to put a finger on the ONE thing that inspires me. Everything inspires me, but isn't that how it's supposed to be?

DW__How important is it for you to look your best and why?

To be honest, it's not all that important to me. I get caught at my school in my workout clothes just because it's convenient for me to not carry extra baggage. Though I suppose going to an outing would be different. The way I see it, if you're confident in what you're wearing, it almost makes what you're wearing that much better. With the exception of wearing uggs and shorts...or crocs, unless if you're my mom, she totally rocks it.

DW__Who would qualify to be an icon?

Anyone who inspires another.

DW__Your ideal female or male would have what style? what would he/she be wearing?

Well if you're asking what I'm attracted to, I'd say the ideal female style should be flattering to her figure, without showing too much. I like a little mystery. I'm not saying wear hooded sweaters and baggy sweats all day, everyday. I just mean the more I have to imagine, the more attractive it is. Class with a little sass.

DW__A fashion advice?

If you don't like your style, who's to blame others for feeling the same way. Be confident in what you wear.

Voilà plusieurs jours que nous n'avons pas posté de photos de nous sur le blog ! Comme je suis en vacances jusqu'à fin janvier, j'en profite donc pour aller faire quelques photos en ville avec Anne-Laure et Chloé, c'est toujours fun ! C'est dans la joie et la bonne humeur que nous nous sommes amusées devant l'appareil photo. En attendant que Mariam ai un peu moins de travail (eh oui l'école de communication visuelle ça rigole pas!!) c'est donc Moi, Olivia qui m'occupe du blog et c'est avec plaisir que je vous poste ci-dessus de nouvelles photos prises hier après-midi. S'en est suivi une petite heure dans un café trop chou appelé le Chouquet's à Rue des Remparts dans le centre ville, après avoir ingurgité un délicieux chocolat viennois, nous rentrons enfin chez nous. Voilà le genre d'après-midi que j'aime passé avec des amies. De plus, qu'est ce que je déteste l'hiver, mettre de gros manteaux qui gâche tout, pas pour moi ! quitte à attraper la crève je m'habille toujours léger mais je ne suis pas si folle que ça, je ne vais pas me balader en t-shirt non plus (bien que j'en ai vu certains le faire) lol juste une grosse veste et basta...bon après s'il fait -15 hein on va se faire violence ahah. Aussi, si Mariam n'a pas trop le temps de sortir elle poste souvent des articles sur son blog personnel de différents travaux réalisés pour son école ou des photos qui illustrent son quotidien, si vous voulez jeter un coup d'oeil c'est par ici : Mademoiselle Ma, ses dessins sont vraiment géniaux !

Julie Khuu, 31 years old, currently residing in Orange County, Southern California

DW__Where would you love to live?

I dream of living in Paris one day...love the culture, sights, smells, people…if not, a summer house there would be grand.

DW__When did you start blogging?

April 2010.

DW__How did you come up with the idea?

As an interior designer, I’m constantly seeking inspiration from all over the globe…I mainly follow up-to-the-minute runway looks to inspire my next designs.

Fashion is fickle and ever-evolving, I’d like my designs to carry that same impetus for constant change…I started the blog as a way to curate all my ideas.

DW__What is fashion for you?

Fashion for me is a lifestyle. The decisions I make when dressing myself and the interiors I design are rooted in the expressive nature of fabrics, textures, rhythm, proportion and their relationship to one another.

It’s a way of life, not merely the clothes I choose to wear.

DW__According to you, what is the most significant period for women's fashion?

Every period had its heyday but currently it’s all about the 80’s to me. Being born in early 80’s I saw how women used the maximalist approach to express themselves then start paring down silhouettes, styles, even mannerisms. Totally in your face and unapologetic….love that freedom of overindulgence. Although not the most pleasing aesthetics, it’s all about the attitude of the 80’s for me.

DW__What do you think about the influence of fashion bloggers in the fashion world?

Fashion bloggers are here to stay. Each individual has such a unique, expressive voice to contribute to where fashion’s going today and tomorrow. No longer relegated to the rich, style can be sought on every level, on every budget. There’s some fabulous bloggers out there who have built an entire wardrobe on thrifted staples. You can’t buy that kind of style anywhere.

DW__Do you believe that one day they'll replace the fashion magazine or do you think it's just ephemeral ?

Oh never. Nor do I wish them to. Just as the internet and television coexist to contribute to a media savvy society, so do editorials and fashion blogs alike. It’s just a matter of opinion and every single individual is entitled to one. It’s really just a preference of format. I can't live without my Vogue and Instyle, and I also can’t live without following my fave fashion and street style bloggers.

DW__Your favourite item in your wardrobe ?

My vintage leopard coat that I scored in Portland, OR while living there for a year. It cost me $35USD and seriously still looks like the richest article of clothing in my entire wardrobe. It makes the dowdiest frocks look downright fabulous and my most worn in sweatpants look chic and stylish. The best pieces have the ability to transform. It does just that.

DW__3 Indispensable items ?

Iphone, EOS chapstick, and a tape measure.

DW__Is your style personal or is it inspired by what is already out there?

A bit of both I think. Some days I can’t help but be inspired by other bloggers, models down the runway, or stylish editorials. Other days it’s all about my mood and what the weather permits. Constantly in flux, constantly evolving.

DW__Where do you get your ideas from?

Art. History. Runways. Interior Design. Nature. Pop culture. Everywhere. As long as my eyes are open, I’m game for anything.

DW__What is your greatest inspiration?

I love the free-spiritedness of the 70’s and the maximalist approach to the early 80’s. I’m all about decadence and femininity and use both those areas of art and design to influence my aesthetic. I’m apparently a hippie child with a completely over-excessive personality. It’s all about more is more for me.

DW__How important is it for you to look your best and why?

It is critical for me to look my best every day. I’m a walking advertisement for my interior design business. As an artist, every facet should tell a story about your personal aesthetic. Clients buy the overall package, just not bits and pieces. Every look needs to make a statement about my designs and what I can accomplish for my client’s with an artist’s vision.

DW__Who would qualify to be an icon?

I love everything Kelly Wearstler’s doing to marry interior design and fashion. Her over-the-top, colorful, whimsical aesthetic is so fun and ostentatious…no explanations, no apologies. I strive for that ballsy approach every day in my life. Young and hip: Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, Nicole Richie…the usual suspects. Old school: Iris Apfel for ageless exuberance, Diane Von Furstenberg for really understanding the power of a woman’s sexuality.

DW__Your ideal female or male would have what style? what would he/she be wearing?

Individual style is all about who is able to express themselves with confidence. It could be the wild child in all rock n’roll garb or the quiet ingénue in flowy fabrics and light gauzy cloth…The ideal figure is one who is most comfortable in his/her skin. We have to tell you that WE LOVE your style ! you have an unique style !

DW__What is your favourite colour?

Depends on what mood I’m in. Right now I’m really feeling Pantone’s color of the year tangerine tango paired with pastels and anchored with black for spring…makes a modern and definitive statement, but the pale hues add a touch of whimsy and magic to the mix.

My favorite quote: “Clothes aren’t going to change the world, but the women who wear them will.” – Anne Klein, American designer. Confidence starts from the inside and grows outward…Clothing is what you say to the world without saying anything at all. True artists transcend this medium and move mountains just by getting dressed. Love that quote.

Quelle a été ma joie d'avoir enfin trouvé qui était cette fille ! Après de multiples tentatives sur les moteurs de recherche, je tape enfin les bons mots clés. Elle s'appelle My Hersgård elle a 22 ans, habite en Suède et fait partie d'une agence appelée Unique Models à Copenhague. Pourquoi nous aimons tant les chaussures? C'est pire qu'une drogue, peut-être même que c'est une maladie? haha C'est comme les vêtements, nos placards et/ou dressing sont remplis, ils débordent de vêtements mais on dit toujours qu'on a plus de vêtements à se mettre, qu'il n'y en a pas assez ! Je crois que cette addiction pour les chaussures ne s'arrêtera jamais, même quand on est fauchée et qu'on voit cette belle paire de chaussures qui nous supplie de la prendre ben...on l'achète! Pas forcément parce qu'on a plus de chaussures à se mettre mais parce qu'on en ressent le besoin, le besoin d'avoir une nouvelle paire dans notre collection!

On nous as fait part d'un documentaire qui traite de la relation que nous entretenons avec nos chaussures. Une femme est plus belle avec des talons, vous ne pensez pas? les talons font tout! Les talons nous rendent élégantes, avec, on se sent plus jolie, notre corps parait plus sexy, on a de l'assurance, tout est harmonieux.
Olivia : je fais 1m73 et je me contrefiche de faire 1m80-85 avec des talons, on est jamais trop grande pour en porter. Pourquoi les grandes femmes devraient s'en priver? c'est tellement féminin, je n'ai donc aucun complexe à en porter.

Mariam : petite comme je suis, j'aime prendre de la hauteur, et quoi de mieux que de se hisser sur des hauts talons? Sur ces échasses, certes je triche un peu (5cm) voir beaucoup (15cm avec plateau) mais je me sens plus féline, plus féminine. Mes jambes semblent s'allonger et ma démarche plus chaloupée. Les talons mettent en valeur le corps de la femme ce qui ne semble pas déplaire aux hommes. Bref, j'ai du mal à m'en passer car j'ai l'impression qu'il manque un prolongement quasi-naturel de mon corps.

Ce qui est aussi intéressant en achetant ce dvd "god save my shoes" c'est qu'en cadeau il y a une des paires de chaussures les plus adulées au monde, les Louboutin (oui oui vous avez bien compris) !! C'est le partenaire red carpet paris qui a caché une paire d'escarpins crées par Christian Louboutin dans un des dvd qui sera vendu entre le 10 et le 24 décembre, si ça c'est pas un beau cadeau de Noël ! De plus, pour chaque dvd vendu sur le site web du film, une paire sera donnée à un enfant dans le besoin oui oui. Pour plus d'infos, vous pouvez toujours aller sur la page facebook, le site web où il y a des webisodes très interessants avec des interviews de créateurs.

In 2008.

DW__How did you come up with the idea?

I started very soon after i stumbled across personal blogs the first time. i wanted to give it a try myself, the whole blogging thing made me so curious. I wanted to know how the hell blogging feels, i couldnt imagine how someone would visit and give a shit. That was fascinating stuff to me.

Yeah, and then the whole thing felt good to me, so i kept on going.

DW__What is fashion for you?

Projection surface for desires.

Thrill.

Group membership.

Overrated.

Underrated.

Fabric.

DW__According to you, what is the most significant period for women's fashion?

I think the 1960s.the traditions started to crumbled, the freedom of

choice arose and women+men started to present themselves as whatever the fuck they were up to, it felt like everything goes. yes, i know, its a doubtful question if there is a freedom of choice anyway but i like the idea about that myth.in the 70s i love especially the androgyny, and

then in the 1980s the females got this amazon touch i love. The 90s were straight and casual which i also adore very much personally.

But regarding the impact, still the 60s win.

DW__What do you think about the influence of fashion bloggers in the fashion world?

The fashion blogs are a big marketing factor so naturally blogs will

massively gain their attraction for brands in the future- even more. Its a win win situation for both.

DW__Do you believe that one day they'll replace the fashion magazine or do you think it's just ephemeral ?

I believe mags will be mainly replaced by some multimedia forms. but fashion mags will for sure not disappear so soon, but their status will definitely change. But i dont think blogs in the common way will do that job.

DW__Your favourite item in your wardrobe ?

There is not such an item. I tend to love and loathe clothes in a moody

cycle.

My son,My boy, the internet.

DW__Is your style personal or is it inspired by what is already out there?

Oh, i am definitely inspired by trends, you know, i get bored pretty quickly so i enjoy those created waves. On the other hand i like to think that every person is kinda uhm personal in the end hehe.

DW__Where do you get your ideas from?

Lookbooks, clothes itself, the catwalk, editorials, blogs, the street, the past.The usual stuff.

DW__What is your greatest inspiration?

Clothes/designs itself.

DW__How important is it for you to look your best and why?

As a blogger you present yourself in a way you want people to see

you.Besides that i highly enjoy to look my worst from time to time.its liberating.

DW__Who would qualify to be an icon?

David Bowie.

In a best case scenario: nothing.
